Special consideration should be given to merit and transparency in the appointment of welfare officers in Pakistani embassies. The Prime Minister directed the formation of a committee for the reform of the technical and technical education sector in Pakistan. The committee will make recommendations for the sector as a whole. The committee will also formulate recommendations for reforms to the Ministry of Overseas Pakistani Affairs and Manpower Development. A high-level review meeting regarding Ministry of Overseas Pakistan Affairs and Manpower Development and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) was held in Islamabad today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. In the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed about the steps taken by NAVTTC in the field of technical and technical education of the workforce in Pakistan. The meeting was told that NAVTTC will provide technical and technical training to 60,000 people this year, while a total of 6 million people will be provided technical and technical training in the next three years after the reforms are completed. The meeting was told that for technical and technical training, not only exchange of information on job opportunities and required skills from abroad is ensured, but also data on labor consumption is obtained from the domestic industry in this regard. The meeting was further informed that NAVTTC has made certification of male and female students from internationally renowned institutes mandatory to ensure global standards of technical and technical training. The meeting was further informed that for the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, not only quotas have been allocated at the federal level, but a separate program is also being launched for their special training, which will begin in June this year as per the instructions of the Prime Minister. The meeting was also briefed in detail about the Ministry of Overseas Pakistan Affairs and Manpower Development and recommendations for reforms were also presented. Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, State Secretary Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Chairman Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, National Coordinator Special Investment Facilitation Board Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ahmed, Vice Chairman were present in the meeting Planning Commission Jahanzeb Khan and related senior officials.
