Former Indian actress and current Union Minister Smriti Irani says that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has lost his family heritage, there is no need to attach so much importance to it.
Recently, while giving an interview to the Indian media, Smriti Irani criticized her rival Rahul Gandhi for not submitting his nomination papers from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections.
Answering a question from the host during the interview, he revealed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, whom he defeated in 2019, is not contesting this year’s elections, but Rae Bareilly is participating.
He said that Congress had given 79 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats to BJP by not fielding Rahul Gandhi from Amethi.
He said that Rahul Gandhi lost to me in 2019 elections also and even if my opponents contested this time he would have lost so his party did not field him against me.
On repeated prodding by the host, he said that I got here by serving the public on my own merit and not being associated with a political family like Rahul Gandhi. They also lost their family inheritance.
Smriti Irani says its a matter of pride that a common BJP worker left Gandhi family, Rae Bareli was the only seat congress won from Uttar Pradesh in 2019. That’s why you don’t give much importance to Rahul Gandhi.
