Sadiq Khan made history by being sworn in as Mayor of London for the third time. The newly elected Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, paid a great tribute to his parents on this occasion.
He said my father served as a bus driver in this city. Sadiq Khan said his father was proud to call himself a Londoner.
He said that when my father came to Britain, racism was on the rise, there were signs on the windows of shops and boarding houses, no blacks, Irish and dogs allowed.
Mayor Sadiq Khan said the son of an Asian immigrant grew up on a south London housing estate to become the city’s mayor.
He said that London is a wonderful city where there are countless opportunities for development. The participants of the event paid tribute to Sadiq Khan with a long applause.
