Sadiq Khan, the Labor Party candidate, has been elected Mayor of London for the third time

Pakistani bus driver’s son becomes mayor of London in a hat-trick, Sadiq Khan, the Labor Party candidate, has been elected mayor of London for the third time.

Sadiq Khan was first elected Mayor of London in 2016, in 2016 Sadiq Khan defeated Conservative candidate Zach Goldsmith Before becoming Mayor, he served as an MP from 2005 to 2016.

Sadiq Khan was born in Tooting, London, studied law at the University of London and entered politics as a councilor on Winsworth Council.

As Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan introduced the unique Hopper scheme, in which passengers can change buses and trams as many times as they want during one hour.

Sadiq Khan also introduced the controversial Alter Lumation Zone scheme to improve London’s air quality.

He was among those who spoke out against the atrocities against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer said Sadiq Khan had served both terms as mayor.
