The Federal Government has decided to buy 1.8 million tonnes of wheat from farmers under PASCO.
Noting the difficulty in procuring wheat and getting farmers to buy grain, the Prime Minister asked why farmers were having difficulty in getting grain. This year the wheat crop was huge, no compromise on the economic security of farmers is acceptable.

During the high-level meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered officers to go and monitor wheat procurement.
The Prime Minister has set up a committee of the Ministry of National Food Security to ensure the comfort of farmers and address their concerns, which will take steps to address farmers’ concerns within four days.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the farmers would be rewarded for their hard work in time and would not let their hard work fall prey to anyone’s carelessness.
