New York (Newsdesk) An emergency meeting of the Security Council called after Iran’s attack on Israel was adjourned after formal proceedings United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state is justifiably prohibited.
At the Security Council meeting, Iran’s ambassador Amir Saeed Erwani attacked Israeli military targets with drones and missiles in response to Israeli aggression, calling the operation a complete self-defense.
He said the Middle East is on the brink of destruction, the region is facing the threat of a catastrophic war, it is time to show less tension and more restraint, he said the war in Gaza is frightening, the unconditional release of hostages and the provision of aid is a shared responsibility.
During the meeting, Deputy US Representative Robert Wood said that the Security Council should condemn Iran’s aggressive actions.
