The Muttahida Non-Bread Association has announced a strike from tomorrow, demanding an end to the repression.

Illegal cases, fines and deals will be sealed against pipe owners, according to the association. Kiln owners suffer losses by selling bread at government rates.

The Muttahida Non Roti Association demanded that the shuttering strike should continue until the demands are accepted. The ongoing crackdown on furnace owners should be stopped.

20 kg bag of flour cheaper by Rs 1000 in a month, food minister Punjab

On the other hand, Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin said in a recent statement that bread and bread are currently available at reduced notified prices across Punjab.

Bilal Yasin further said that a 20 kg bag of flour has become cheaper by Rs 1,000 in a month. A bag of 20 kg flour is available in the market for Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,800, while a bag of 10 kg flour is available for Rs 900.

Muttahida Non Roti Association Punjab president had earlier said in a statement that the ovens were being shut down in protest against illegal fines and filing of cases by the district administration. Illegal action is being taken against oven owners by fixing the price of bread and naan at will.
