A plan has been drawn up to move all operations at Dubai Airport to Dubai Al Maktoum Airport in the next 10 years.
The ruler of Dubai shared the plan to relocate the Dubai airport on social media. The proposal for new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai has been approved.
The cost of building the new terminal will be 128 billion dirhams. Al-Mutakum Airport can handle 260 million passengers annually.
At the future airport, it will be able to operate 5 runways at the same time, at the future airport, 400 aircraft will be able to serve passengers at the same time. At the airport, new aviation technologies will be used for the first time in the aviation sector.
The new city “Dubai South” will be built around Al-Mutakum Airport, residential space for 1 million people will be provided in Dubai South.
Note that Dubai’s Al Mutacom Airport has hosted the Dubai Air Show for 10 years. Dubai Al Mutaqum Airport started operations with cargo flights in 2010.
Al Mutacom Airport in Dubai is located 60 km from the existing Dubai Airport. Flights with a limited number of passengers also depart from Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport today.
