Egypt’s National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research has predicted that the Dhul-Hijjah moon will rise on Thursday, June 6 at 2:39 a.m. Cairo time.

A report issued by the institute explained that the first day of Eid al-Adha 2024 in Egypt will be on Sunday, June 16, 2024, while Waqf Arafa will be on June 15. So the month of Dhul Hajj will start on Friday 7th June 2024.

However, according to the National Research Institute, the final position can be taken only after the date of Eid-ul-Adha is decided by Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the sighting of the moon in the month of Dhul Hijj 1445 AH, the agency explained that the new moon will remain in the sky in Makkah for 11 minutes and in Cairo for 18 minutes after sunset. In other areas of Egypt, the new crescent will be visible for between 12 and 20 minutes.
