A plan for the privatization of 5 profitable energy companies was prepared.
According to Ministry of Privatization sources, the energy companies include Lesco, Fesco, Isco, Mapco and Gapco.
In the first phase, it was decided to form a new board of these companies, the 12-member board sent a summary to the cabinet for final approval.
These 12 members will be directors of five boards, these members will look after all matters including privatisation, according to sources in the privatization ministry.
According to sources, the Ministry of Energy’s proposal to privatize loss-making enterprises was rejected.
Sources say that the privatization of discotheques is likely to make electricity more expensive.
