Pakistan is likely to get a new loan tranche from the IMF

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board meeting will be held on April 29. In which Pakistan is likely to be approved for the next installment.

According to finance ministry sources, the IMF Executive Board meeting on April 29 is likely to approve Pakistan’s second economic review and another installment of $1 billion 100 million.

After approval by the IMF Board, Pakistan will receive the last loan installment under the standby program. Once the tranche is received, the standby program with the IMF will be completed.

Treasury sources say that after this tranche, negotiations on another $6-8 billion program are likely to begin in May.
