The wait for Pakistani climbers to climb the 8,027-meter-high Shishapangma has lengthened as Chinese authorities have refused to issue a permit to climb Shishapangma this season.

Pakistan’s Shahrooz Kashif, Sarbaz Ali and Naila Kayani were training in Nepal to head Shesha Pangma.

It should be noted that the 8027 meter high Sheshapangma is the 14th highest peak in the world.

Shahroz and Sarbaz have climbed 13 of the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world. Two climbers only have to climb Sheshapangma to complete the 14 “eight-thousanders”.

So far, no Pakistani mountaineer has managed to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters. Shahroz and Sarbaz could not climb this peak due to an accident in October last year.

The Sheshapangma permit is likely to be issued by the Chinese authorities in October.

By climbing Sheshapangma, Shahruz Kashif will also become the youngest mountaineer to conquer all 14 peaks above 8000 meters.

After failing to get the Sheshapangma permit, Naila Kayani will now climb Makala in Nepal, Naila Kayani is the only Pakistani woman to climb 10 peaks above 8000 meters.
