BEIJING: A Chinese company has introduced a unique unhappy leave offer to ease its employees’ plight.
from the South China Morning Post According to the report A Chinese retail chain recently introduced a unique “unhappy vacation” idea in its company, which allows employees to take time off if they are unhappy.
Yu Donglai, founder and chairman of Chinese retail company Peng Donglai, announced that employees will now be able to request an additional 10 days of unpaid leave at their discretion.
“I want every employee to have the freedom not to come to work when they’re not happy,” he says.
He further said that the administration cannot deny anyone this leave, it would be a violation of the rules.
After this announcement, the employees praised their boss’s initiative and said that this culture of unhappy holidays should be promoted across the country.
