The US State Department said that Pakistan is one of the most important partners of the United States in the region.

US State Department Chief Spokesman Vedant Patel said at a press briefing in Washington: “Pakistan remains one of our most important partners in the region.

In response to a question, he said that the US continues to work closely with the Pakistani government, especially in the areas of security and trade.

In response to another question, he said that we have made it clear to countries around the world what an integral role a free press plays in the fabric of democracy. That’s why we come here and ask regularly.

Patel denied commenting on the matter of the attack on the Sikh leader, saying the US Department of Law and Justice was investigating the matter and he could not comment.

The United States has previously pledged to support Pakistan in economic reforms.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told a press briefing that Pakistan has made progress in stabilizing its economy and we support its efforts to manage its daunting debt burden.
