Kohistan: In an important operation, the Shangla police arrested a matriculation student who was arrested for honor killing in Kohistan and arrested other accused including the girl’s father and uncle.
According to a police report, information was received from Lower Kohistan and Shangla Control Room that the girl was being taken from Jalkot area of Kohistan by her father, uncle and others to Kohistan to kill her. According to the report, after receiving information at 3:30 in the afternoon, a car going to Jalkot was stopped and a 17-18-year-old girl who was traveling in the car with her father, uncle and relatives was rescued. a relative along with the driver.
It was informed that the girl is a resident of Mansehra and a student of class 10 and was having a good conversation with her neighbor and an employee of the Kohistan Police Department for the last four to five months. The report stated that the girl was talking to an employee this morning when her parents saw her talking, after which the employee ran away from the scene, whereupon her parents severely beat her.
According to their traditions, her parents were taking her to Kohistan to kill her for having a relationship with a boy, but the Kohistan police thwarted the plan with timely action and the girl is in police custody, while the other accused including the girl’s father are arrested.
The police have initiated legal action against the accused in custody and congratulated the District Superintendent of Police for issuing strict instructions to the police team to provide full protection to the girl and fulfill all legal requirements. Kohistan police officer Juma Rehman told Dawn that the girl has been shifted to a safe place and will be produced in court tomorrow.
