Another world record for T20 in IPL

In another T20 world record in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Punjab Kings set the record for the most successful run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Punjab reached the target of 262 runs for 2 wickets with 8 balls to spare, the target of over 260 was crossed for the first time in the history of T20 cricket.

South Africa reached a target of 259 against the West Indies last year, in 2023 Middlesex reached a target of 253 against Surrey.

Only 26 times in the history of T20 cricket have 260 or more runs been scored, 7 of the 26 such totals have come in the current IPL season.
