Torrential rains and storms have unleashed chaos in southeastern Brazil, claiming the lives of 25 individuals.
Reports indicate that the fatalities occurred across Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo, with numerous individuals still unaccounted for.
The onslaught of floods and landslides has resulted in widespread devastation, including the destruction of properties and the collapse of homes.
In the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro alone, thousands of residents have been uprooted and compelled to seek refuge elsewhere due to the relentless rain and ensuing flooding, as per media accounts.
Authorities have reported that over 5,400 individuals have been evacuated from affected regions, while more than 270 homes have been obliterated by the calamity.
