Commenting on the demonstrations in the United States to express solidarity with the Palestinians, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said that the ongoing demonstrations in the United States are part of democracy.

According to a media report from Washington, the US Secretary of State said that the US defends the protests as a public right.

It should be remembered that despite the intervention of the American police, student demonstrations against the war in Gaza continued for the second week at American universities and colleges.

The deadline to remove the pro-Palestinian protest camp at Columbia University has passed. The university’s president says negotiations are underway with the protesters, with progress being made.

More than 550 people have been arrested during a crackdown on ongoing protests at several American educational institutions.

US Democratic Congressman Ilhan Omar, who visited a pro-Palestinian protest camp at Columbia University in New York, said young people have always pushed for better American government, whether it was through the civil rights movement or Vietnam to end the war.

He said the protesters were on the right side of history in pressuring the US not to participate in the genocide in Gaza.
