After 123 years, Aligarh University has appointed a woman as Vice-Chancellor

Web Desk: After 123 years, Aligarh University, the oldest educational institution in India, has appointed a woman as Vice-Chancellor.
It may be recalled that Professor Naima Khatun has taken over the post of Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh University.
Professor Naima Khatun is the second woman to hold this position in the history of Aligarh University, the first Chancellor of Aligarh University in 1920 was Begum Sultan Jahan who was then the Nawab of Bhopal State in undivided India.
According to the Indian Ministry of Education, Naima Khatun’s term of office is 5 years from the date of her assumption of office or until she attains the age of 70 years.
