In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, death toll rises to 36 due to torrential rains, 46 injured

So far 36 people have been killed and 46 people injured due to accidents due to heavy rains in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the loss of life and property report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the dead include 20 children, 8 men and 8 women.

The PDMA said the injured included 9 women, 33 men and 11 children. According to the report, a total of 2,391 houses were damaged due to the collapse of walls and roofs in various districts, of which 388 houses were completely destroyed and 2,003 were partially damaged.

Chance of rain in most areas, flooding in rivers, risk of landslides

The PDMA report said accidents occurred in Khyber, Lower and Upper Dir, Lower and Upper, Swat, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Mohmand, Malakand, Kirk, Tank, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera districts due to heavy rains. , Buner, Hangu, Bitgram, Bannu, North and South Waziristan, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan and Orakzai.

According to the PDMA, torrential rains are likely to continue intermittently till April 21, while warnings have already been issued to all district administrations to be alert and take precautionary measures.
