The Lahore High Court has taken a significant step in the ongoing money laundering case by issuing a non-bailable warrant against Tahirim Elahi, the wife of Monis Elahi, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party and former federal minister.

The decision came during a hearing presided over by a two-judge bench, led by Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry of the Lahore High Court. The prosecution had petitioned to revoke the bail of Rasakh Elahi, Tahiri Elahi, and other individuals implicated in the case.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court has also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Tahirim Elahi in connection with the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) money laundering probe. The court has adjourned further proceedings until after the Eid holidays.

The prosecution strongly opposed the granting of interim bail to the accused in the money laundering case before the Supreme Court.

This development follows a previous ruling on February 27, where the Lahore High Court had issued an arrest warrant against Tahirim Elahi and other accused individuals, including Monis Elahi, in the same money laundering case. The hearing was adjourned to March 18, marking a continuation in the legal proceedings surrounding the case.
